When Tragedy Does Not Get the Final Word
Niran came to The Prayer Roof carrying more than a small backpack. He had lived through loss, instability, and the kind of sadness that makes a child stop imagining the future. At first, he stayed quiet. School felt hard. Trust felt harder. He did what he was told, but purpose felt far away.
The caregivers at The Prayer Roof began rebuilding his life through steady days. Morning routines. School. Homework. Worship. Chores. Meals. Sports with the other children. Encouragement when he wanted to quit. Correction when he needed direction. Prayer when words were not enough.
Slowly, Niran began to change. He found confidence on the football field. He started helping younger children with small tasks around the home. He began talking about what he wanted to become.
That is what these families do. They do not let tragedy name a child forever. They help children discover responsibility, faith, courage, and purpose.
When a child begins to believe his life can still matter, tragedy has lost its grip.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.”
Psalm 34:18
